IS ANYBODY OUT THERE

Hi me again,
Another week has passed in the wonderful world of
real estate and what a week.  I cannot believe the
amount of people who came to look at Glen Orchard
in St Heliers this weekend.  We had people in their
80′s who had their wedding shots taken there to
others who gave birth to their first child there.  All
heartwarming stories I wonder who will be the next
owner - I have yet to meet the next family who are
going to create their precious memories.  I also have
been receiving renewed interest from overseas
buyers not just ex-pats but internationals who want
to set up home here,  one large property which
has been available for some time in Herne Bay is now
the object of two foreign parties desire.  Everyone is
gearing up for spring – I say what’s wrong with
winter – I really do wish vendors would appreciate
that buyers don’t hibernate like bears and they want
homes all year round – in fact you as a vendor are
more likely to find your right buyer easier in winter
because when they like your home on a dull day now
they know they’re going to love it when it’s their
home on a bright day in summer
I know I can ramble on for ages about property and
people and most other things really, so that I know I’m
not alone give me a sign tell me you like this, hate
this or tell me what you want to hear about and I’ll
see what I can do to help .
Have a great week and May Your God Go With You

Hello world!

Welcome to my world of real estate and what a wonderful world it is.  When the naysayers and doom merchants take a breath the air really does smell fresh again and that is fresh with opportunity for anyone with vision, passion and commitment.  I had the privilege of opening 91 St Heliers Bay Road, this weekend. This home was built in the early 1850′s and much of it is still original.  The greatest treat I had was three previous owners who had very fond memories came back to see their much loved home.  One lady aged 93 remembers milking the cows on what was then the 440 acre farm. She  was married in the drawing room and was delighted to see that it was much the same as she remembered (minus the crystal chandeliers) what a treat it was for me and the other visitors to spend time with this lovely lady and rekindle her youth. We often say New Zealand has very little history but this home is a testimony to what truly great people with vision accomplished over 150 years ago and it genuinely warmed my heart to share some of  the happy memories these folk shared.  We say if walls could talk well I wonder what these walls would say – I certainly can’t imagine them complaining too much about today’s state of the nation after all they have survived 2 world wars, the depression and much more and are still standing proudly ready to make the next owners as happy as the three families who visited yesterday.

Now from the newsdesk let’s look at the good news this week – according to REINZ “residential property prices firmed last month to the highest June median compared with the past ten years despite relatively low turnover”.    The low turnover is a result of lack of property on the market because we certainly have the buyers and they are keen to buy so take advantage of this situation and ensure that your home is not just part of the spring rush but gets a key position now in the hearts and minds of buyers who are desperately looking for their special place who knows it could be yours.
